Is this real or did I just walk on to the set of Marie Antoinette?
So, I went to the Met to see the costume exhibit, this year it is Charles James exhibit. I thought it was really interesting, I liked how it had cameras showing how the dress is made. I'm just learning how to drape I was so amazed at how he created these dresses. He created silhouettes that designers such as Oscar de le Renta uses now. He was ahead of his time when he created them. To be honest I knew I was not going to like this as much as last year's exhibit. Because, last year I loved the Punk Chaos to Couture. It wasn't that I loved it, it influenced me as an artist, as a person, and was by far the most I ever took away from a museum exhibit. So, I would be disappointed by anything after having that amazing experience last year. But, I did see some other amazing art. I mean look at this room? I want to live in that room! Overall I had a great day.
Love,
Maddie
